Do I have to change any settings if I install the Service Pack 2 for Windows XP?

Service Pack 2 (SP2) for the Windows XP operating system includes updates designed to improve web browser security, email handling, network/memory protection, performance and stability. While most systems running HTML-Kit will not require additional changes, the following is a list of possible modifications related to HTML-Kit settings.

FTP Workspace and the Windows Firewall:

The default installation of SP2 turns on the Windows Firewall. If you use HTML-Kit's FTP Workspace for editing remote files, the Passive Mode may have to be enabled if it was not enabled while adding the FTP server. The Passive Mode is commonly used to connect to FTP servers through Internet firewalls and proxy servers.

To enable the Passive Mode, right click the FTP server item on the Workspace, select "Properties" from the menu, check the Passive Mode option and click the "OK" button. Finally, reconnect to the FTP server as usual.
