Too lazy to type the full directory name?
Did you know that you can avoid typing full directory names when changing directories from the Command Prompt
Let's say you have a directory named MyNewYorkOfficeFilesFolder
that you want to changed to. Instead of typing:
- CD MyNewYorkOfficeFilesFolder
next time try:
- CD myn*
If you have multiple directories starting with the letters "myn" then you'd have to use more characters before the *
, until the name can be distinguished from the rest of the directory names in the current directory.
If you have multiple directories to change to such as:
you can use:
- CD myn*\a*\o*
