HTML-Kit Support
Adds a customizable list of tags and snippets to the right click menu.

  • Provides access to commonly used tags on the right click menu.
  • The default menu includes options for inserting paragraphs, links, images, DIV/SPAN tags with the class attribute, STRONG/EM tags, HTML/CSS comments and custom tags/snippets.
  • Ability to add custom options that can insert tags, import code snippets from files and invoke main menu commands.
  • Also provides options for opening one or more files, URLs and folders windows. Folder windows can compliment the Workspace by making it easier to browse drives/folders and open files (using the "Right click > Send To > HTML-Kit" option) [new].
  • Displayed options can be turned on/off without removing the content.

  • To insert tags: right click inside an editor window and select "Tags".
  • To wrap a block of text with a particular tag: select the text before right clicking and pick an option from the "Tags" menu.
  • To customize the items on the menu: select "Customize" from the "Tags" menu (or pick "Preferences" from the plugin icon's drop-down menu, on the Actions Bar).
  • To add a new item for inserting a tag: while in the plugin's preferences dialog, scroll down and expand an empty item. Select "Tags" from the "Item Type" drop-down menu, type a display name under "Menu item name," and enter the tag/snippet to insert in the "Results" field.
  • To optionally control the cursor position: use the "|" character (without quotes) in tag/snippets to indicate the cursor position.
  • To optionally incorporate the selected text into the snippet: use "{{SELTEXT}}" (without quotes) to indicate where the selected text should appear in the snippet.
  • To optionally format the inserted tags: make sure that the "Item Type" can handle formatted tags, and use one of the following tokens: ^N = unformatted, ^T = tag name, ^A = attribute, ^Q = quote, ^U = equal sign, ^z = optional <end /> token. Refer to menu items in the plugin's preferences dialog for examples on how to format tags.
  • To add a custom item for inserting a code snippet from a file: while adding a new item, select "Snippet from a File" from the "Item type" drop-down menu.
  • To insert the special tokens <% or %> as part of a code snippet: enter {{ASP_LT}} where <% should be inserted and {{ASP_GT}} for %>.
  • To add a custom item for invoking a main menu command: while adding a new item, select "Menu Command" from the "Item type" drop-down menu. A list of commands can be obtained using the "Help | Command Names" main menu option.
  • To open one or more folder windows: in the plugin preferences dialog, scroll down and expand an empty item. Select "Folder Window" from the "Item Type" drop-down menu and type a display name under "Menu item name." Enter the path to a drive or a folder to open in the "Results" field. More than one drive/folder can be entered by using ";" as the separator. For example, to open C:\ and D:\FILES\ enter C:\;D:\FILES\ in the "Results" field [new].
  • To hide a menu option: while in the plugin's preferences dialog, select "Off / Disabled" from the "Item type" drop-down menu.
  • To reset the menu to use the default options: select "Reset Preferences" from the plugin icon's drop-down menu.

  • The "Reset" button on the bottom of the customization dialog applies to all items, not only the currently selected item. It should not be used except for clearing all items.
  • <% and %> are special tokens used by the plugin. To insert these tokens using the plugin's right click menu, please use {{ASP_LT}} for <% and {{ASP_GT}} for %> in the plugin customization dialog [new v0.92].
